MSAD#59 has again been awarded a grant for the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program for our K-8 students for the 2023-2024 Year. The purpose of the program is to increase fresh fruit and vegetable consumption in elementary schools. Every student in grades K-8 will be offered a free fruit or vegetable snack daily. This grant is funded by the federal government.
For the 2023-2024 school year, RSU59 students will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. Families should still apply for free and reduced breakfast and lunch programs for their students, as completing the application supports RSU59 with additional federal and state funding opportunities.
Applications must be completed annually and can be submitted at any point in the year based on -need, -change in employment/income, -midyear enrollment or alternative factors. Additionally, RSU59 students benefit from further academic supports and resources through funds provided from this application. Thank you.
The food pantry is located at Main Street Middle School on the Nichols St. side of the building. Please follow the signs.
This is a reminder about the hours for our food pantry. We are open every Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. except during school vacation weeks. In the winter months if school is dismissed early due to weather conditions we will not be open.
We have partnered with the Good Shepherd Food – Bank to make this free food pantry available to all our students and their families. If this would be a help for your family, please come in during the specified day and time to see if there are items you would be interested in. There is no paperwork to fill out the only criteria we have is your child/children must be attending one of our 3 schools.
Please remember if you go to another food cupboard in town you can still come to ours weekly. Hope to see you there.
